Summer 2002

Saturday, September 28th

Sigh. The house hunting continues. I have figured out how to make the downpayment, and also changed to a less crappy mortgage company with much better terms. I've made a couple offers, including one I really wanted, but I'm not seeing much right now, which is discouraging. Unless something extraordinary happens I'll be staying at Stonegate for another month. Most everything else is business as usual.

Thursday, August 22nd

I got back from the annual Devil's Lake camping trip on Tuesday. We had a lot of fun this year, despite the rangers showing up to breathalize the girls. We got some good hiking, boating, and relaxing in, and overall had a lot of fun. I've also been engaged in my home buying adventure. I got a real estate agent, looked at a few duplexes, and found one I like. When I got ahold of my mortgage agent he told me they needed 5% down plus closing costs on duplexes. So now I'm trying to work out some new financing so I can make an offer, since I don't have eight or nine thousand dollars sitting about. I hope your summer's going well!

Wednesday, July 24th

Well I've had a pretty full July so far. While I haven't been swimming as much as I'd hoped, I've hosted a LAN party, been to a very warm party at Ian's, work has been interesting, what with Project Insanity going on, today I saw Men in Black II, and my househunting has continued. I've also taken an interest in a silly internet game called Gang-Wars which I find entertaining for some reason. Beyond that it is life as usual.

Tuesday, July 2nd

This past weekend was Eriq and Jill's housewarming party. I had a great time and met a bunch of interesting people, and saw some old friends that I've missed. Not a ton of interesting things have happened in the last month, but I've gotten some time at the pool in, a trip to John Muir for some mountain biking, and a trip to Ikea for some shopping. I have Thursday through Monday off, but not a whole lot of plans for the time off, which is good. I intend to do some loafing, and spend a lot of time outdoors.
